This quote was taken from a powerful work of Genevieve Behrend called “Your Invisible Power.”
She explains that once you clearly identify your “ideal conception” or vision for your life you can rest assured the initial conditions needed to realize that vision are either already in your life or will soon come into view. Accomplishing a goal, no matter the size, should be an occasion filled with joy. Yet, often people spend so much time focusing on achieving a goal that when it’s done, there is a feeling of emptiness or a need to immediately move on to the next goal in order to feel fulfilled. Have you ever experienced this?
Part of this is the human desire for progress and that is good. However, not experiencing the joy of accomplishments steals the beauty of life from us! Don’t believe this is true? Look at countless examples of people who have achieved tremendous results in their life – everything someone could desire – and they are miserable. Some of them have even considered, or gone through with, suicide.
Obviously finding the joy in life is important. How do we find that joy?
Are we out of our minds? How could we possible say such a thing? That is absolutely ridiculous because failing to achieve goals is never a good thing. Failure to accomplish goals is painful.
